Bio
Since I received my first Nikon from my wife, I hardly let go of the camera. It is attached to me, it is a part of me and it goes almost everywhere with me. Photography is a profession and a compulsive hobby. You hold your family up during trips or you find yourself stuck in the middle of the street. You are constantly busy managing time and pushing the boundaries. Just one more photo and that’s it. I am always searching for the next object, and observing reality through the prism of the frames. Sometimes my head is even occupied with the possible editing which can be done on Photoshop, as I am walking.
As a photographer, I love using artificial light. I do portraits, profile and personal image photos; and I use a portable studio which includes backgrounds, flashes and different light modifiers. The person I am taking photographs of doesn’t have to wander to a faraway studio in an unfamiliar environment. I photograph people where they feel most comfortable in, and they are prepared to open up and connect with me and with the camera. I ask to tell the story of the person who is being photographed, through the images, and if possible I wish to engage them in a scene which supports this story.
Photography for me is an archive, and the images are a giant and endless collection which make up this archive. The photographer, in my opinion, is a kind of mediator, who mediates a complex and multi layered reality through a two-dimensional image.
My love for photography is part of my love for documentation and nostalgia. I love collecting and keeping things, and I very rarely part with items or throw them away. I also almost never erase photographs, and I believe every photo can be re-discovered in the future as one which is precise, interesting and relevant.
That is the reason why my love for photography and images is endless. I devote a large portion of my time to photography, editing and studying the profession. I always aspire to improve and to experiment with new photographing and editing techniques, and to constantly learn from other photographers and from you, as well, you who chose to visit my humble website.
